Universiti Brunei Darussalam



Universiti Brunei Darussalam was established on 28 October 1985, opening its doors to the first intake of 176 students. Today, UBD accommodates more than 600 academic staff and 4,000 students in seven academic faculties, namely the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Faculty of Business, Economics and Policies Studies, Faculty of Science, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Education, Academy of Brunei Studies, Pengiran Anak Puteri Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Institute of Health Sciences, and Language Centre.


UBD is dedicated to providing a world class education for students that will equip them for the demands of the global workplace, through a series of bold and innovative measures. This includes the implementation of the revolutionary GenNEXT curriculum, which makes use of best practices to ensure a learner- and student-centric experience that combines experiential learning and international exposure with rigorous academic training.


UBD's fast-moving and stimulating research culture is committed to capitalising on existing strengths to conduct high impact and constantly relevant, internationally recognised research which will contribute to the national development of Brunei Darussalam and the global community

UBD offers top quality research and academic including an excellent library, Information Communication Technology Centre, Educational Technology Centre, and Teaching and Learning Centre. These ensure that members of the university are well-supported and encouraged in all of their academic and professional endeavours.
